We're still truckin' on here, or I should say skiin'. Trails overall still have good coverage. A few thin spots out there but definately some fun gliding to be had. Yesterday things did not soften too much and the thinning of the snow pack was minimal. I am out grooming around, combing out skate lanes and may try to set a new track in select places once things soften enough. Trails #1, #11 and #4/#4a would be the picks for today.
Come get your gliding in, these next few days could be our last hoorah' for the season but I have a premonition that we may see some more fresh snow before spring time really hits. See you up here.

We had some real warm temps here yesterday with the thermometers hitting over 60 degrees. Despite the warm snow it was really good skiing. It was surprisingly firm underfoot and under a pole plant. The Klister skiing sure was fun (always is).
When I left here last night at around 6PM, it was still 60 degrees. Right now it is 15 degrees out. About a 45+ degree temp drop in just over 12 hrs. That is pretty ridiculous!
Needless to say, the snow first thing this morning is quite firm. I did some combing out of the skate lanes this morning and with the sun and rising temps, the ski surface should soften up. We lost a good bit of snow yesterday but the coverage out there is still holding strong overall. The skiing will improve throughout the day as things warm and soften. Caution in the shaded areas as they may struggle to soften today. High temps are forecast anywhere from 28 degrees to 36 degrees today.
I would get your skiing in over the next few days. It looks to get warm again tomorrow and Friday and then the weekend is forecast to be really warm and rainy starting Sunday. Saturday may or may not have some skiing so we shall just have to see. Today is day #94 for the season. Not too shabby.
Come up and get your glide on! "Carpe Skiem" people.

Yet another gorgeous day here in East Warren. Yesterday’s Spring Skiing sure was pleasant. Today will be more of the same. The sun has already busted over the East Ridge and is feeling mighty warm. The snow pack froze up solid last night. I have tuned up skate lanes on core trails and things will soften quickly with that warm sunshine. I will try to set a new track on some of the closer trails once things soften a bit and if I can sneak away here in just a little bit. Still a pretty good track in most places however.
This nice weather and warmth sure feels good after all the cold winter weather. Come soak it up!
I doubt we have seen the last of the chilly weather for this season but as far as the next few days go, bring your sunblock, sunglasses, T-shirts and come enjoy these beautiful March Conditions here at Ole’s XC. See you up here.
Our ski shop is on late season sale and we still have a pretty good selection of new New Nordic gear here for you to check out so.......Come check it out!
