Well thank goodness. We finally got a big rain storm and then the bottom fell out of the temperatures. It is now well below freezing and things are locked up hard. It was weeks and weeks of packed powder conditions. Good to have it back to normal . Twas’ starting to get a little weird out there.
In all seriousness, we did survive the big melt well. Trails, from what I have seen, still seem to have great coverage. Needless to say, the snow surface this morning was rather firm. I have done some rounds, working the skate lanes on trails #1, #2, #3, #5 out to #7 and then around #4 loops. They have tilled up nicely into a loose granular surface. Skiing should be nice. The sun is shining.
It is looking like winter is living on for the 24/25 ski season. Come get your gliding in.
This weekend looks beautiful so I hope to see you all up here

We had some classic New England weather that rolled in over the last 36hrs or so. It rained yesterday afternoon through last night with rather heavy precipitation moving over us.
While we lost some snow, the good news is that most things still seem to have good to great coverage. I drove around on the roads this morning and from what I can see we will still have quality skiing action up here for the foreseeable future. Â
There will be no grooming today as it will do more harm than good. The snowpack and the layers underneath need to drain.. Trail #5 along East Warren Road has flowing water that will take a good bit to dry up. A re freeze forecast for tonight with a nice looking weekend ahead.
After some freezing weather and some thumb on the throttle grooming I should be able to whip this place back into shape.

Actually a pretty nice morning out there with great skiing. The ski surface is surprisingly firm underfoot considering the temp is 45 degrees. Weather is supposed to move in pretty quickly this morning and it looks like a day of rain and a few days of warm temps.
Rain amounts are anywhere from .50 to about 1". There is a pretty beefy snow base out there so really hoping keep this thing going with some nice March Spring Skiing!
We have had an excellent stretch of cold winter weather this season.
Today is day number 87 for the season. Nice.
Fingers crossed for snow on the back side of this warm weather system.
I do anticipate having to close trails later today to help preserve the snow pack. Check here or call of current trail status.
Stay tuned.
